Inspire.
I think the title should be “I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE!”.
Ok, I’m cheating. I didn’t take these photos. They are from my mom’s facebook page. The handsome subject is my dad. Photography credit goes Beulah Moss. After I dealt with my extreme jealousy I was inspired by these photos. I figured there must be another Newfoundlander waking up today that might need inspiration after looking out the window and seeing snow AGAIN. I don’t know how long this can go on. I’m not talking about the snow melting I just want it to stop falling.
We have to aspire to be successful in whatever we do so that we can be in these photos too!

Digging
In my first posts of the Battery I declared this little piece of history as being my favorite spot in St. John’s. And it is digging a deeper place in my heart every day. Last night Lori and I ventured out, ever braver, into the cold night for some more long exposures. I came away much more satisfied than the previous night but still with just a photo or two worthy of posting.
Here is one of the Battery. It was taken with a 4 second exposure but I did do some post work in CS3 to bring out the backdrop of rock. Basically I used curves with Luminosity blend mode (to keep the color saturation down). I also used curves with Multiply blend mode to darken a few of the brighter houses. And in the end I sharpened it…not sure if that was too far. I think I could have achieved some of this in camera…all the reason for another outing.
Sidenote: I’m beginning to fall in love with my tripod.
